This section contains a little more information about me and my photography background.

I am based in Whitehaven, Cumbria and am a fully qualified photographer with a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art Photography. I have worked in many fields of photography and I have gained a lot of experience over time. My professional experience includes:-

  • Weddings, large and small

  • Portraiture, during which time I became a Style Director for a national portrait studio franchise

  • Commercial and PR work

  • Photojournalism

  • Police and Medical photography

My husband, Ian, has also recently taken to photography. In addition to being a talented second photographer, Ian is also very handy for carrying heavy kit around!

My start in weddings was some years ago when I photographed a wedding for a friend. A lot of my wedding bookings come from word of mouth, and as the enquiries have become more frequent, my services needed to be more accessible, hence the website.

In 2007, I won a National Portrait Award, while I was studio based in Carlisle. The image was used in a nationwide advertising campaign for that company.

I have also been involved with charity work, which includes a project helping to raise money for local Farepak victims. A local group of female Farepak victims had approached me with a ‘Calendar girls’ idea. Little did I realise at the time the media attention the girls and I then received. The December image was shown on GMTV, The Sun, a TV documentary on Farepak, and local news and papers.

I have a huge passion for digital technology. I think it is important to use digital techniques to enhance an image without removing it’s integrity.

It is really important to me that my clients feel at ease with me, and enjoy their photographic experience as well as the results. I get a great deal of enjoyment out of the work which, I hope, shows in the results.
